Holidays Part I

Who doesn’t love holidays? No school, no work, free time to spend with friends and family! Let’s focus on “Labor Day” now. It is a holiday celebrated in many countries around the world but the dates may vary.

Labor Day in the United States is a public holiday celebrated on the first Monday in September. It honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, laws and well-being of the country. It is the Monday of the long weekend known as Labor Day Weekend and it is considered the unofficial end of summer in the United States. It is recognized as a federal holiday.

In Brazil, Labor Day or Work Day, also a federal holiday,it’s celebrated on May 1st every year.It celebrates the achievements of workers and the labor movement. This holiday is also known as May Day around the world.
