What if….

Do you normally think too much about everything? I do that often but I’m working on it and trying to relax. Here it is  the word’s definition:

o·ver·think72107fed1fc679db54ae9ba7448c7955--chick-flicks-offspring-tv-show
verb
gerund or present participle: overthinking
1.think about (something) too much or for too long.
“must you overthink every relationship?”
I’ve been watching this Australian TV show called Offspring in which Nina, the principal character is a doctor and she overthinks everything and that ends up making a whole mess in her relationship with her family, friends and boyfriend. It’s kinda funny but if we stop and reflect about this whole “overthinking thing” we’ll see that it’s not something funny at all. When we do that, we create a whole situation in our head, something that didn’t happen (yet) and probably won’t. By overthinking things, we end up making bad decisions and what we fear most ends up happening.

The bible says exactly that, in Proverbs 23:7a “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he [in behavior—one who manipulates].”AMP version. Women tend to think a lot more than men so I think a lot about pretty much everything and  I’ve been praying to God and doing my best to work on this so I can relax and don’t be anxious about anything that might come up in my life. The secret? Trusting God and His faithfulness. He takes care of us and it also helps understanding that we can’t control people or what happens around us so let’s do our best to live our lives with joy, trusting God and not overthinking every little thing and situation that might might come up!
